Visibility Changed Everything

Date: Jun 3, 2026

The smallest thing I changed in my coaching business cost me nothing, yet it has probably had a greater impact than almost anything else I have invested in over the years.

It was not a new website. It was not a rebrand. It was not another coaching qualification, accreditation or framework. It was not a sophisticated content strategy.

I simply started showing up.

I started sharing my thoughts online more consistently. I started recording videos. I started letting people hear my voice and understand my point of view.

What is interesting is that this is actually the second time in my career I have had to learn this lesson.

Before coaching, I spent many years working as an actor. Like many actors, I believed that if I focused on the craft, opportunities would naturally follow. I trained, studied, rehearsed and spent countless hours trying to become better. Deep down, I assumed that if I became good enough, somebody would notice.

Sometimes they did. More often, they did not.

It took me a long time to understand that talent and visibility are not the same thing. Being capable does not automatically mean being seen. There are many talented people whose careers never fully develop because the world never gets a chance to discover what they can do.

Years later, when I built my coaching business, I found myself falling into a remarkably similar trap.

I was coaching clients, building experience and collecting testimonials. I knew the work was effective because I could see the results. Clients were winning promotions, delivering keynote speeches, securing leadership roles and communicating with greater confidence. Yet I was still spending far more time hiding than being visible.

I told myself I needed another qualification. I told myself I needed a clearer plan. I told myself my opinion online did not matter. In reality, I was doing what many intelligent professionals do: hiding behind FEAR OF BEING SEEN.
